Dawit Chrikuli is a 24-year old Georgian pianist, a student of the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid and the winner of international piano contests such as the Cantù and Vigo piano competitions. He was also the finalist of the XIXth Chopin Piano Competition.
While Chrikuli was the highest ranking competitor of the final stage of the Chopin Competition who did not receive an award, he has won over the hearts of many music lovers and received praise from the critics complimenting his ”combination of fiery and expressive playing with the fluidity of phrasing […] while preserving the balance between technique and dramatic flair” (Mateusz Ciupka) and ”the intense and dark yet controlled style of playing” (Iza Smelczyńska).
In Łódź, the pianist will perform a set of Chopin’s scherzos, the fascinating and mysterious series of Preludes Op. 28 and the Fantasy in F Minor Op. 49. We invite you to witness this extraordinary evening!
